My Me
These adolescent years
Growing, changing, crying.
Developing
Into the person
You want to be.
Shaping your future
Molding who you are
Into a clay figure that screams
Me.
Me; a general word
A broad definition
That describes each person
In a different, unique fashion.
Me creeps inside,
It questions my identity.
It makes me do things
That I later regret.
Me usurps my brain
Makes me want to scream.
I need to emit excess energy.
I must get out anger
Caused by Me.
Lost is Me.
Doubled is Me.
Suddenly, there are multiple Me’s.
All in my core.
Confused is Me.
Unsure.
Which one defines
The ultimate Me?
Wandering in a desert
Alone, in solitude
Crying, calling out, sobbing
It’s a dark world.
It’s a dark life.
No one recovers from it.
No one makes it through,
No one can survive.
I can’t live my life
Without Me.
