Springtime Etude
The stepping stones are touched with tiny yellow petals,
And sunlight. A thick, sweet smell swims in the air
Honeysuckle rendezvous on the wooden fence,
Grinning and striking pretty poses
For the little girl dancing in the yard.
A cloud passes overhead,
The honeysuckle scream in protest!
The sun would gasp
Rushing to cast light over the stepping stones,
The fence, and the flowers.
The sky is clear and aquamarine.
Lavender and Thyme quietly color the air
With their soft, particular fragrance.
The citrus fruits grow merrily
Aside raspberries and their tickling fuzz
The stepping stones are touched with tiny yellow petals.
