A Game Well Played
I know that what we had was good
But it would never last
And I can’t really help myself
For living in the past
There are some questions deep inside me
That you may claim are strange
But if they’re answered for me
I’ll give something in exchange
I’ve hated you for a while
Six months to be exact
But if my questions are answered
I’ll let go of this act
I’ve cried so many nights
Because of what we had
Don’t get me wrong, some parts were good
But more were really bad
I love you, but I can’t forgive
The awful thing you did
You stole my heart and broke it
Then put it up for bid
You played well, a game well played
For that I must applaud
But now all I can say to you is:
“I’m done with you, Thank God.”
