Doodle bug, doodle bug,
house on fire.
Doodle bug doodle bug
is my desire.

See how the sand,
creeps into your home.
You hope it's your prey and
to the top you roam.

Doodle bug, doodle bug,

Walking onto my thumb,
you crawl to your doom.
You look around dumb,
falling into your soon-to-be tomb.

The author's comments:
I was trying to catch a doodle bug by there little mounds for a bug collection and my dad talked about how he used to try and catch doodle bugs when he was yound. When he would catch them with his siblings they'd always say "Doodle bug, doodle bug house on fire." Sounded like a poem to me.
