To Dream
Sometimes I can’t wait to go to bed
That’s when the thoughts come creeping into my head
It’s when my reality disappears and my dreams
Overwhelm me with perfect futures
Where bliss is eminent
Always
But sometimes I dread
The thought of closing my eyes
Of having the truth
I won’t acknowledge in the day
Screaming in my ears
Sometimes my dreams of perfect futures
Only reflect that the present
Is overwhelming
Out of control
Lonely
But if my present was perfect
What would I have to dream about?
