The Forest
The place I met Lee
He brought his sister Marie
We carved our initials in a tree
We would sit under it, just us three
Some days we would drink tea and eat brie
Now, when I look at that tree
It brings back my memory
The one where I met Lee
But now Lee is gone
Now it’s just me
Marie went to school
And I’m stuck here
Wanting to free my soul once more
It’s screaming to go out
It wants to be under that tree
I am afraid if I set it free
It won’t want to come back
Then it will really be just me
Stuck in a memory.
