Too Far From the Fire
I don't know what to write
because I don't know what to say.
I didn't want to get too close
because now my feelings can't allay.
I've got an everlasting image of you
that my mind sees everyday.
It's a shame how you had to leave
because I wasn't good enough for you to stay.
I'm sick of getting up in the morning
and seeing that you are not just a dream.
Reality was incapable of telling me
the clues to your obvious scheme.
I believed that I was different
or at least you told me so.
And when I looked into your blue eyes,
I swore that I wouldn't want to let you go.
There's something about you
that made me fall once more.
I guess it's that you're my best friend
and you have a heart that I adore.
I doubt that you ever think of me
because I'm not what you desire.
I thought we had a spark,
but you were too far from the fire.
