Fool (A Dead Man Can't Cry)
It’s black and white
but the smile reaches
my eyes
Long hair and bright lights
I’m a pretty sight
but it’s been awhile.
I cut my hair now I’m
growing it back
too many colours
grayer shades of black
Empty eyes looking behind
I am a lie.
Don’t ask me anything you’ll
never hear the truth
since I don’t even know it
still searching for proof
My pictures today are
plastic and plain
To be her again
I’d give anything.
But there are no more chances
and I broke the rules
I’ve been chasing the wind
like such a fool
Crumpled picture in hand
I begin to run
Losing myself and all I’ve become.
