So close,

Just a glimpse,

A memory is all I see,

Of what used to be.

I miss the places,

Those familiar places.

All I have to do

Is close my eyes to see,

A rode, a path,

I so often traveled.

I didn't realize,

That I would never

Travel it again.

Anything and everything,

Sends me back,

To this place, I want to be.

This place is now only

A memory to me.

A memory but never forgotten.

It's just a glimpse

Of what use to be.

I had just moved and I was coming home from one of my brothers baseball games and I close my eyes and it felt like I was back in my old town.

Wow, this is really good. I love the emotions this portrays. My dad used to be in the military, so I know how that feels to want to be somewhere you're not. This is great, keep on writing!

i know that feeling of wanting to be somewhere it is almost impossible to be at the moment and closing your eyes and feeling like your there...i totally like this! =)
