Everything I'm Not
I think I remember,
Those days,
When I wouldn’t change
To feel excepted.
And it didn’t matter
How I dressed
Or if I’d make over myself.
I think I remember,
The looks I got when
I wasn’t perfect.
I wasn’t fake.
I wasn’t a lie.
I think I remember,
My normal, un-dyed hair,
My clean, un-caked face,
My I-couldn’t-give-a-crap clothing,
I think I remember,
Myself before,
I wanted to be,
Everything you were.
I think I remember,
Looking into the mirror,
At night thinking,
You’re everything I’m not,
This isn’t me.
I think I remember those days.
Those days when,
I knew who I was.
I think I remember.
