The Silent Girl
There once was a girl
She wasn’t deaf, and she wasn’t blind
But she never talked to anyone
At school she was called the silent girl
Although she was good in school
And her grades were perfect
A straight “A” student
School was not a social event for her
As it was for many
The only 2 things she did other than her work
Watch and listen
She watched the fights
The drama
And the teachers of course
She listened to rumors
To yelling
And to name calling
But she was never involved in it
No one knows why
Some say she’s just shy
Some say she’s sick
But those are just guesses
Some don’t even care
Although she has many friends
Not one of them has heard her talk since the day they met her
The thing was,
She could speak, she was just speechless.
