We the Teenagers
Learn from others mistakes, they say,
But you know we never do.
Listen to your parents, they say,
But we haven't got a clue.
Do what you're told, they say,
But we all fight the system.
Grown-ups know best, they say,
But none of us believe them.
It's useless- give it up, they say,
But we'll tough it out.
What would you do without us, they sigh,
But we could go without.
Why don't you listen?, they asked,
(Though really, they knew)
And we turned to them and asked-
Did you?
