I struggled to stay afloat, but
the rip tide held me like a mother
to a wandering child.

I opened my mouth to
shout back to land, but
was silenced by
water.

And I tried to dig my feet
into the sandy bottom of consciousness,
but the rushing tide poured out
its foamy fingers and dragged me
deeper and deeper
until land was only a speckled memory
in my already dreaming mind.

*Shiver* That... I dunno. I'm ridiculous for being too obsessed with my own poetry on here and never reading anyone else's. This was gorgeous. It fully deserved to be in the print. Hope you might think the same of my own.

This is really beautiful. I read it like a billion times! The way your words mingled and intertwined making the poem progress slowly was sensational. Can't wait to read more!

Could you maybe read and comment some of my stuff?
