I am a gem
I am the type of person who wants to be appreciated
I am the type of person who you can easily appreciate
However I am a gem that lacks its true luster
People see me and easily overlook what I have to offer
I can't be placed inside a ring, I can't be bought in a store
My edges are too rough, and no one is able to gloss me up
There is no other gem as precious as me
I am the gem everyone wants but no one looks for
The type of person people expect to fall into their laps and care
The people who naturally believe I am easily obtainable
They are wrong
I do not fall into people's laps
Blessed are those that value me for what I am
Because indeed, many people do not
Many people overlook how wonderfully good I can be
Because I've lost my luster
But those who accept dirty, unusable, seemingly worthless gems
Are those who I treasure the most
