See the Unseen
When I smile, look at my eyes, not my mouth
It's amazing what you can hide with a smile.
When I laugh, listen for pain, not joy
It's amazing what you can cover with your voice
The mirrors can lie
The fantasy die
When the hurt is real in your eyes
The unbroken shatter
The drops can splatter
If you don't pull me nearer
My heart could be breaking,
Masked behind perfection
The walls could be shaking,
Behind this charade.
When I listen, let me speak
Maybe I have words to say
When I yell, it's because of the silence filling the void.
See the unseen
Believe in belief
Help me return
Hear the silence in my scream.
