Her Love is Contagious
I never wrote poetry, outside of school
Until I met her, and she became poetic fuel
I’ve dated her once, which wasn’t enough
I realize this is typical, but I know it’s love
I can’t leave her, the way I’d thought
By just walking away, like she isn’t what I want
Somehow I manage to live, through day and night
Missing her so much, that for her I’d fight
Every sad song, I’ve ever heard
Every single day, reminds me of her
Her beautiful face is imprinted in my head
For the past few months, she’s why I get out of bed
Not for my friends, who come and go
Or for my grades, which have recently been low
She’s my motivation, and for her I’d die
She’s the best thing that's happened, to me as a guy
Her Love is contagious,
I catch it like a cold,
Chicken noodle soup can’t cure this,
And it never gets old.
Everything I ever needed, left with her it seems
Work ethic, focus, sleep, and the girl of my dreams
She’s an amazing person, and she deserves the best
She deserves more than me, and more than the rest
