Those Scattered Photographs
Like photographs
Scattered on the floor
Every moment
Leaves a memory behind
A point in time
That we grasp onto
Tuck away
Into a deep corner of our mind
When we pull the memories
Out from beneath the shadows
They flood back
Allowing us to smile again
To hear the laughter echoing from years ago
Feel the rain that fell so many summers before
As time goes by
Some of the photos
Fade
Yellow
With age
Crinkle
Around the edges
Flutter away
In the wind
But we hold tight
To the memories
To the past
To the pieces of ourselves
