Devoted Friend
Music is her twin
When she puts in her headphones,
It holds her hand
She listens to music
To all of its tales of heartache
And adventure
Music is her one true friend
It never lets her down
When she is listening, the world seems to drown
And it is only her
Her and music, in this one moment
Music lets her weep and weeps with her
It helps wash away the sad thoughts and bad memories
And after she's done crying, it sits there a while longer
Just because it wants to
Music wants to because she is strong
And beautiful
And miraculously intelligent
And because it knows she loves it so much
Music is her sister, her father, her mother, and her best friend
Because when they push her down,
It is always there to catch her
