Dreaming
These days the world seems to always be on my case,
In the midst of my slumber I awake in the cold, dark, mysterious clouds of space.
But deep in the distance develops an optimistic sight,
I see a field of dreams, I know I’ll be alright.
Still, lurking in the shadows like a phantom in the night,
My worries are not far from this fantasy of light.
I have been endowed with an endless supply of worry,
But for this moment might I not be subject to a mind of fog so blurry?
Can I allow myself to slip away? To forget, at least for now?
This is my opportunity for escape and I’ll take advantage of it somehow.
And once I slip away, I’m dreaming with a heavy heart,
But waking up is still the hardest part.
