Skipping
Skipping rope, when I meet your eye
A good turner, a sweet smile
I feel an innocent crush swelling in my heart
It jumps with the rhythm of my feet
Skipping rocks a few summers down,
The sun slowly sinking into the lake
The dim light it produce perfects the scene
Just watching rocks dance across the water
Skipping school just to drive around town
We felt like rebel, breaking free
The wind in my hair, those kisses on my neck
I swear, they were moments I won't forget
Skipping a few beats in my heart's drum line
You slowly kneel down to one knee
A tear in my eye, a diamond ring
My smile broadened the horizon of my face
Skipping bills just to make it by
A love inside us, it still burns
Like the cake that's still in the oven
Like the washer that's now smoking
Skipping work, rushing to the hospital
A baby girl, just entering our new world
Wrapped in pink, cradled in our arm
Starting a new life, falling in love again
