&quot;I&#039;m dying.&quot;<br /> &quot;We all are - act accordingly.&quot;

Blending in, nondescript.
Of average height, with self-conscious wit.
Through a quick drawn facade, unrecognized;
Unseen through materialistic eyes.

"Go it alone, or don't go at all,"
a motto developed to avoid another fall.
But what is to be done, when one trips themselves,
when they have refused to trust those who wish only to help.

Fearing not, trusting none.
Forgiving each, forgetting not one.

Beggars will be choosers, and choosers shall have none.
This world has little hope, and yet, it's just begun.
Wishing to do good, and trying not to forget:
Those who try and help are not the few,
they simply haven't found the many yet.

With little confidence and much bravery,
I write this poem to try and describe me.

The author's comments:
I was given an assignment for school in which I was to form a self portrait through literature. It could be poetry, fiction, an article; whatever I chose. I chose to write a poem.
