Blind
The truth has been distorted
Justice has been thwarted
Darkness has consumed our souls
Our thoughts have become bigoted
Hopelessness breeds in these streets
Apathy sleeps under the sheets
Eyes that once saw clearly
Are nothing but coloured beads
We keep on moving
Not knowing that the poor
Are being stampeded under our feet
Since so many are dying anyway
Why bother sending a wreath?
There is blood on the floor
There is blood everywhere
Since all we see is red
We don’t see the bloodshed.
