Friday Night
Walking down the street
The wind whips your hair
It’s freezing by the water
So you want to go there
You’ve got your two best friends
You’ve got your youth
And you’re hungry for something stupid to do
Over your heads
The streetlights glow
Synthetic, hazy spotlights
Whispering “go”
So you take the cue
And you glide through the air
And you see your friends
They’re all standing there
Beckoning to you
They’re gonna get high
You wouldn’t want to miss out
On a taste of the sky
So you walk on over
And you feel so cool
And you can’t wait to brag about it
Monday at school
So you make your mistakes
And you make them with pride
And you go home that night
And you’re empty inside
