The Dream
Feet hit the stone floors,
A smacking kiss, so cold,
So stinging to the touch.
I am as swift as the river,
Pushing to the inevitable cataract.
Ba-dum. Ba-dum.
Heart pumping, adrenaline pulsing,
They are following.
Monsters, they are like the darkness
That slithers through cracks.
And they found a new prey.
Ba-dum. Ba-dum.
Racing up a staircase
That leads to the top a tower.
I am trapped,
Fooled by my own subconscious mind.
There is nothing left.
Ba-dum. Ba-dum.
Backing away from them,
Desperately looking for an escape
And slowly being pushed
Pushed against the unstable railing.
It gives way and slowly I fall back.
Ba-dum. Ba-dum.
Plummeting down, I Free-falling
As the ground races to meet me.
There is no way to stop the impact,
And there is no way for me to survive;
I will die.
