If I ever had to Leave Here
If I ever had to leave here
This little town of mine
I’d miss one thing and one thing only
I’d miss the beach at night
I’d miss the smell of cigarettes in salty, briny air
I’d miss the splintered railings and the knots the wind ties in my hair
I’d miss the calming melody of waves dancing in the night
I’d miss the city across the sea and its dream-inducing light
But more then the obscure comforts the beach has introduced me to
I’d miss one thing over all the rest; sitting on the shore with you
