My Daddy
You were there for me,
Through thick and thin,
Until you had to go to Afghanistan.
You left when I was only 6.
It broke my heart
For you to be gone.
After you came back,
You had some news,
That changed my life,
More than you ever knew.
It was cancer,
That overtook you.
We went through that,
But then you got sick.
For about a month,
There were many hospital visits.
The pain we suffered
Can never be erased.
But the lessons I learned will never be changed.
I love you,
More than you will ever know.
I am so glad that through all that,
I never had to let you go.
