If I were a star,
And to look at me
you’d be blinded,
Would it hurt for you to gaze?
If I were a flame,
And to touch me
you’d be scolded,
Would you stay away?
If I were winter,
And to touch me
you‘d whither,
Would you wish it to be May?
If I were a thief,
And I could steal
your heart and soul,
Would you let me stay?
If I were your love,
And to love me
you’d be burned,
What would you say?
