Ode to Snow
She moves silently,
slowly,
cloaking the earth
in a thick layer of crystals
to warm the soil with
her blanket, blissfully
unaware she makes it colder.
Eagerly, she supplies
She hears people complain about
the wet and cool fabric she has sewn.
Regretfully, she lets the sun
consume it within his fiery flames.
Dirt and grime
forever cover her cloth,
the stains of a forgotten war
dye her pure color a
deep hue of scarlet.
She simply shrugs her shoulders,
and makes more to replace the
smooth cover.
