The Hurtful Game

I believed what you said
Despite my feelings inside.
I thought you were different
But I was mistaken.
I gave back the trust
That you lost the last time.
And look at where I am now,
With my heart broken again.
I should have learned my lesson
The first time it happened,
But I thought you could actually change.
I was mistaken.
And now all I can do is
Learn my lesson this time
And not play this hurtful game again.

WOW! What depth and understanding of painful relationships...they can be painful, yet they do also hold great joy. Better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all...(not my quote, but has great meaning).
