A Mother
Protecting, devoted, compassionate mother,
Your loving sensitivity wraps me in warmth.
You sustain my rage and displeasure,
But anticipate my dreams with aspiration.
I desire nothing but to be in your presence,
And trust in your faithfulness to love me.
The confidence you give me to survive,
When all I wish to do is break down and cry.
You pick me up and dust me off,
You make me laugh and smile.
My Mother, you can be grave and serious,
Sometimes you are dismissively lighthearted.
Through thick and thin you never gave in,
You’re my hero, my savior, my best friend.
Mom I love you until the end.
