Authors, Artists, and Musicians
No matter what they think,
They are authors,
They are artists,
They are musicians,
They are the creators,
The little girl with chalk in hand,
The scholar scrawling poems in the margins of pages for notes
The teenager rebelling in a punk rock band,
The middle-aged parent singing hymns in church,
The student doodling instead of listening in class,
Their poverty is a lack of money for ice cream,
Or to pay their bills,
Their suffering is listening to dull teachers,
Or the sun beating on their backs,
Or the mockery of peers,
Their disbeliefs are just like everyone else's,
They don't always believe in themselves,
But they have the courage,
To create,
With voice,
With pencil,
With charcoal or chalk,
With words,
No matter what they think,
They are authors,
They are artists,
They are musicians,
They are everyone.
