Darkness Inside A Human Head
The night was silent
Until I heard a sound,
So I ran into the kitchen
To grab a knife
And do the ready-to-defend position.
I waited for a monster with claws
Until the door bell rang
And I sighed.
After all,
Monsters are just products of imagination.
Before I reached the door,
I stopped
And thought to myself,
What if monsters are real?
What if it is an alien knocking at the door?
What if a zombie attacks from behind?
What if the products of my imagination are real?
What if...?
“What is taking you so long
To open this door?”
As I sighed again,
I opened the door
To reveal my mother,
Arms crossed and face terrifyingly angry.
Smiling like an idiot,
I said,
“I thought you are a monster.”
“Do I look like one?”
She stepped into the house,
Yelling at my weird imagination.
But at least I learned one thing:
“Do not be afraid of the unseen."
