The Wonderful Almost
And so I left, without another word
Never to see your sparkling eyes again
If only I had said a final goodbye
Then maybe I wouldn't be kicking myself now
Your tousled locks mocked me as I drove away
The only feeling I could recall was your hug
Warm and, overall, completely right
As if our arms were meant to hold each other
Why didn't I just say it right there and then?Just three simple words, both creating lives and destroying worlds
Haunting me forever and always, now
When I close my eyes, I see your laughing face
My eyes being that beautiful burn
Now, I only have memories and your yearbook picture
So, my wonderful almost, I love you.
