Age 7
I lived for many things when I was 7
I lived for the color blue
The blue of the flared denim jeans
Light up sketchers danced around the wall ball and tether ball courts
Everybody listened to N’Sync, Britney Spears, and Aaron Carter on their CD players
All the cool kids had Lunchables for lunch with a Capri Sun or Sunny D
And I couldn’t wait have a locker and be a high schooler
I couldn’t wait to drive myself around instead of my mom having to do it for me
To get to it all
It all seemed so easy
I didn’t know what was actually going on around me
Because I was in my little bubble of ignorance and naivety
