Dressed As a Lady
There is a small girl and she’s dressed like a lady
She has on a dress made of silk and a necklace of pearls
Her lips are a dark crimson shade
And her head is full of blonde curls
She smiles and laughs with her dollies
She speaks in an accent that is not her own
She dances around infront of the mirror
She does so in the safety of her home
She enjoys a bath with the company of bubbles
And she giggles when you mention boys
She loves to play with puppies and rabbits
She needs and wants every toy
She’s as cute and as small as a button
She’s as loud and as alarming as a horn
She’s everything you would ever want
From the very day she was born
But she will grow older and she won’t
Be mine or anyone else’s “baby”
Because this small girl playing dress up
Will actually become a lady
