Teen Angst
"Oh, I know -
Teenage
Angst.
I remember
How it was.
Everything seemed
Like a matter
Of life-and-death
Every breakup was
The end of the
World, a veritable
Apocalypse."
You
Don't
Remember.
If you did, if you
Let yourself
Feel and
Let go of your
Barriers and floodgates and masks
You
Might
Remember.
But you don't.
Because you -
Just one out of those millions of
Adults out there
Dismissing my opinions and
Personality as
Mere hormones and
Passing
Phases -
You don't
Remember.
Or you would know
How I feel, you would
Understand my fury when
You dismiss ME,
Dismiss my anger, my sadness as
Teenage angst.
You
Don't
Remember.
It's
Okay;
They
Never
Really do.
