A Date With Nature
A single snowflake flutters to the ground
Its beauty untouched and unique
The heavy foliage muffles the sound
Distancing civilization... or so to speak
The enveloping mist around me swirls
As I look down to the moss beneath
Winds blow in delightful whirls
Forming a shrouding sheath
Coming through the silvery luminescence
Is something shining and bright
There is just a feeling of their presence
Something invisible to human sight
They are spirits of winters gone by
Of ancient secrets yet untold
One knows not what mysteries
Their brimming hearts might unfold
Suddenly losing my train of thought
I snap back to dreary reality
The woods will always call to me
Beckoning with their tranquility...
