Logic of Insanity
Splatters of blood
on the edges of my mind
I dig down deeper
afraid what I might find
The crimson drips
shatters the ground
awakens reality
"Look what I've found"
A human heart
yes, still beating
as darkness closes over
I find myself retreating
There is no going back
I hold it in my hand
all I have left
and then it turns to sand
Slides through my fingers
soft, yet still pulsing
spills to the sky
I find it revolting
How something gained with effort
can be lost so easily
and when you lose your grip
they call it insanity
