You and Me Friends We Will Always Be
The day you left me all I could do was cry
Seeing you walk to your bus and me to mine.
I didn't know you were leaving until a week before,
But any amount of time could be given,
I still wouldn't want you to go.
I followed in your footsteps,
Until they disappeared.
You let me fall for you and you didn’t catch me,
I landed flat on my face.
You told me you move around a lot,
Not to worry that you'd be back.
Day after day, Month after month,
I have waited for you to show up ,
Hoping we could friends once more.
Still to this day I think of good times we shared,
Passing notes and laughing at your funny remarks and jokes.
I think about those shoes I bought to impress you,
And I wore them even though they killed my feet.
All those times we got called down in class to be quiet,
but we would roll our eyes and just go on with our conversation.
I remember the time when I gave you a fake phone number,
hoping you would ask for my real one.
In art it was me, you and Chase,
It was my favorite time of the day.
It was stupid but I always had this thought in the back of my mind,
That you would tell me you liked me in that class.
We made fun of each other’s artwork,
And tried our best to leave the dorks alone.
The day you gave me your number I think I could have fainted,
I bet I was as red as a tomato.
I still had it till about a year ago,
When for some reason I threw everything away.
Along with your number were all the notes you and me wrote,
I thought if I threw them away I would forget about you.
Yes, I've moved on,
And met new people.
I’m sorry to tell you but I have feelings for someone else now,
But there’s still room in my life for you,
Just not as close as we could of been.
Maybe it was supposed to be like this,
Maybe we weren't meant to be.
Because I’ve heard everything happens for a reason,
Even though we may not understand it.
I am happy with my life,
And wish you the best for yours.
If I could talk to you today,
I would tell you about my life.
Tell you what’s happened,
and what’s changed.
Tell you about my family and friends,
and my boyfriend that is now one of the most important things to me.
I would just want you to know that we can still be friends,
and that I miss you.
You and Me Friends We Will Always Be.
