Reflection
I look in the mirror, but what do I see?
A new-born child smiling back at me.
Only four pounds with bright blue eyes,
Angels watching over her as she cries.
I look in the mirror, but what do I see?
A blonde-haired girl at the age of three.
She smiles and she laughs, and she plays all day,
Not a care in the world as her troubles float away.
I look in the mirror, but what do I see?
A twelve year old girl sitting up in a tree.
Dreaming of fame and fortune, and riches,
Straying away from her very first kisses.
I look in the mirror, but what do I see?
A young teenager running wild and free.
A boyfriend, a car, and a high school diploma,
The smell of success is a desired aroma.
I look in the mirror, but what do I see?
A grown-up girl with a family.
A husband, two kids, and a mile long list,
Being a kid again is her only wish.
