A change
With exhilarating yearnings, I saw moon’s slumber
With blazed zeal, I saw a new sun’s resplendence
The wind’s beguiling feathers tickled my sentiments
A new year it was with new expectations
After relishing the savors of the past smiles
I was no more grieved, no more desperate
The ashen land of dreams was bloomed again
And acquisition of success, was to be my fate
But, O jealousy! Thou haggard fiend and venom
Thy poison preys up courage, bruises heart
I know go cheek by jowl, gladness and grieve
From my elevated fervor, I can’t stay apart
Sun was compacted to a rind, merely in a year
But fortitude’s wick balances an intimidating flame
Before tolerance’s born fruit, all opulence perishes
It’s thy faith’s exam, not thy fate’s blame
Here comes November, year’s second last month
White pearls fall, frustrations now squiffy in smoke
The dew on thy lashes, winter’s breeze touching thy face
Are the messages of a change, a renaissance they provoke
