&quot;Every time you smile at someone, it is an action of love, a gift to that person, a beautiful thing.&quot; <br /> &ndash; Mother Teresa

Faith is great
It can move mountains
It can change lives
It's a lifeline to God
And a ticket to Heaven
Faith is a shining light in this
Sick, twisted place we call the world
It is the belief of the intangible
Yet it's the solid rock upon which
Outstanding lives are built

Hope is great
It is the knowledge that something
Better can come from the pain
It is the moment in the dark of night
When one realized that dawn is near
Hope is senseless optimism
It's a weary smile
And it is often the only thing
Getting someone through their day

But love
Love is the greatest
It's an extended hand to the fallen
An encouraging word to the broken
Laughter with the depressed
A listening ear in times of need
A warm smile to a stranger
A wordless embrace
Help beyond what is asked
Thinking without judging
Three nails and a cross

Love is selfless and humble
Love is thoughtful and caring
Love endures all trials
Love is just ridiculous
Because not many achieve it
Because some don't even attempt it
Because no one deserves it
Yet it is a gift everyone needs

This poem is based on the verse 1 Cor. 13:13 ("Three things will last forever: faith, hope, and love. And the greatest of these is love.") and what I get from it.
