Advancing.
It’s hard to accept
The passing of time
Memories fade
Still thoughts on your mind
Developing skills
Getting rid of others
Facing head on
Or hiding in covers
People will change
And you just might too
Things rearrange
And there’s nothing to do
Being with friends
Turns to talking with strangers
We go from strict safety
To all kinds of dangers
Moving along
And walking through life
Don’t want to be wrong
Or take things in strife
You can only do your best
That’s the most we can do
Sometimes things stop short
Even though you’re not through
It all seems at distance
Until it affects you first-hand
You sail ruthless seas
Then you’re back onto land
These peaks and valleys
Those moments of thought
Start keeping tallies
Of the things you’ve got
