love the end
hidden in the silent whispers of her last breath,
were the words that would haunt him forever,
the look in her eye as she kissed him,
the tear on her cheek bone,
the soft touch of her shaking hand,
and it slid down his jaw and fell to the floor,
then her body lay motionless,
the knife in her hand,
the cut to her wrist,
and her last words still echoing on her red velvet lips
“i love you”
he held her tightly,
pulling her body up to his,
so they were chest to chest,
heart to heart,
and so his heartbeat pulsed through her,
his tears glistened on her forehead,
her blood staining his shirt,
and her only warmth was his,
he didn’t want this all to happen,
he didn’t want to believe it,
but to her it had ended,
she’d done it herself,
as, like him, she wanted them to be together so badly,
wanted to be in his arms so strongly,
but knowing she never would be,
she had stopped the pain,
thinking he wouldn’t even care.
