You're Late
It’s too late to care about me now
I’ve long since slipped on the razor’s edge
And you weren’t noticing me then
Now that I have cuts on my wrists and thighs
All of a sudden you want into my life?
What’s wrong?
You didn’t save me when I needed you
Screamed your name thousands of times
Until my lungs bled, all futilely trying to get your attention
You were too busy to care, while I died in your view
Cast your nose up at the stench of my corpse
And when the Carrion Crows come to devour me
Suddenly you want to move my body from the center of the road
What’s wrong?
I died without you
My last hope, my last love, my last call was your name
But you didn’t even acknowledge any of my pain
And when the reaper lifts his scythe over my head
You’re crying because suddenly you care
Suddenly you miss him, but why?
You had all the time in the world to save me
But you waited, and the opportunity passed you by
You’re tardy, I’m dead
