My starry Friends
As the stars sparkle
I stare, eyes wide
My neck craned upward
Letting the distant light shine
Upon my face
The stars are shining diamonds
They shine with power
They sparkle with intensity
Some take on a tinge of blue
Some dazzle with a touch of red
Planets sit between the stars
Bright and shining
Though not twinkling
As their celestial friends do
Every night
A falling star lights up the sky
Stealing the spotlight
Only for a moment
For the diamonds in the sky still twinkle
With amazing endurance
The stars glimmer
And the man in the moon smiles
As I say goodbye
Stealing one last glance
At my starry friends
