New Morning
I hold out for a new morning.
The morning that will come,
when the sun will glisten high in the sky,
and the grass will glow underneath it
The morning when all my other emotions
will leave,
and all I'll feel is happiness.
I hold out for a new morning,
the morning that will come,
where I will get to smile all of the time,
and not just hide behind one.
Where I will laugh,
a real laugh,
and not hide behind a fake one.
I hold out for a new morning,
the morning that will come,
when all my simple desires are met,
and all my simple needs are too,
where my requests are fulfilled,
and where my heart feels light.
I hold out for a new morning,
the morning that will come,
and change my life.
