I Am a Girl with Purple Hair
I am a girl with purple hair
I wonder what it would be like to be like everyone else
I hear the scorn as I walk down the halls
I see the people point and laugh
I want to be accepted for who I am
I am a girl with purple hair
I pretend that people love me, even when they don’t
I feel rejected by the people that surround me
I touch my hair and have to keep from pulling it out
I worry sometimes that my friends will all get sick of me
I cry at the thought of having no one to turn to
I am a girl with purple hair
I say I like being unique, but
I still dream of being like everyone else
I try to conform, to fit in, but I don’t
I hope people will come to love me for who I am
I am a girl with purple hair
