Fountain of Youth
She watches herself watching herself grow old
And the mirror grows dusky
Ashamed to meet her own eyes
As life runs down her lips and is entangled in her hair
And dreams grow rheumatic and forgotten moments flee to dusty corners
A worn out blanket draped across trembling porcelain knees
She sits by that window for hours, pale eyes on the sun-fringed clouds turning flowery with dusk
The sky looks like tomorrow
