A Lonely Figure
Sitting in my desk
I stare out the window
Rain pours down, blinding everything,
The ground soon creates puddles,
The green grass slowly disappears
Under water with many flowers,
I notice a sad figure standing
Alone in the middle
Rain drenching it, it looks so small
Even from afar I see the pain
And weight of many sins
Weigh it down,
Painful to watch I want
To look away but I cannot,
The figure is looking up
Towards the gray sky,
I can make out the tears
That glide down it’s face,
Just barely from the rest of the rain
Dread falls on my shoulders
As I recognize her face,
The lonely figure I see
Is me
